Speak · Host · Support

Get involved

If you are a veteran willing to speak, a school that would host an hour, or simply want to support the work, get in touch.

Veterans

Speakers are welcome. In a school hour we ask for fifteen minutes — a short first-person account of service — then you stay for the children's questions. It is not a parade and it is not a politics lesson.

Schools

Forms and classroom stories. One hour. Two veterans. Fifteen minutes each, then thirty minutes of questions and answers with the children. The first Oxfordshire school visits are being booked now; we will publish names and dates as they confirm. Write if you want a slot — the diary is filling.

Pubs

The winter Yarning series: two or three veterans, a yarn each, then questions from the room. Rory hosts every evening himself, so you don't need to find a host, and you don't need an open fire: any welcoming pub or space works. Summer sessions will follow in beer gardens and other spaces. See Yarning for how an evening works.

Supporters

Libraries, youth centres, parish councils, veterans' groups and cadet forces. Supported by a Civic Future Action Grant. Starting in Oxfordshire with the aim of going national.
